In the last years we used radar equipment to integrate data collected by visual observations. Radar is particularly useful to study the non-visible migration such as the nocturnal migration of passerines. But also to collect data on the migratory behaviour of raptors allowing to calculate flight speed, flight altitude and direction. Here below a picture of our radar station and a graph showing flight altitude of migrating birds. Take a look also to our last papers and to our radar website!
